DENVER – Denver United Methodist Church is holding its Christmas Luncheon for East Lincoln County seniors Dec. 13.

Christmas music will be provided by trumpeter Buck Moody throughout the complimentary meal, beginning at 11:30 a.m. A Christmas concert performed by the Golden Voices will follow.

The entrance and parking are in the rear of DUMC’s Family Life Center, 3910 N.C. 16 N.

Space is limited to the first 200 guests.


Churches unite for handbell concert

DENVER – Holy Spirit Catholic Church and Salem United Methodist Church will join together for the Christmas Handbell Concert Dec. 9 in the Holy Spirit sanctuary.

The concert is at 3 p.m. and is held to celebrate the season of Christmas with a bell choir performance under the direction of Cheryl Barker, music minister at Salem UMC.


Fitness classes coming

DENVER – There will be Ladies Fit360 classes offered at Denver Baptist Church.

A 14-week boot-camp-style workout begins Jan. 7 and is held 9:05-10:05 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. There will also be a free Fit360 class beginning Monday, Nov. 26. Both are at the church’s Worship Center.

Unity group going to Graham library

DENVER – The Prime Timers group at Unity Presbyterian Church is going to the Billy Graham Library Thursday, Dec. 6.

The bus will be boarded at 9:45 a.m. to experience the “Journey of Faith” tour, visit the home place, reflect in the prayer garden, browse the bookstore and have lunch.

The cost is $11 for lunch and $5 for the bus. Registration may be done in the Unity gathering area.
