LINCOLNTON – An Iron Station man has been charged with allegedly shooting into an occupied vehicle on the night of Feb. 16.
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 5400 block of East N.C. 27, where they found a man who had been shot at another location and driven to a church parking lot, according to a sheriff’s office press release. Investigators later determined that the shooting occurred in a driveway at 3251 Bluegrass Lane in Iron Station.
A resident of that address, Jonathan Miles Blanton, 33, is accused of firing into the moving vehicle. The shot came through the back window and struck the diver, Bobby Alexander Holmes of Asheville, deputies said.
Holmes was transported to Caromont Medical Center in Gastonia, where he remained Monday and was listed in stable condition.
Blanton was charged with one felony count each of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and inflicting serious injury, and discharging a weapon into an occupied moving vehicle.
He was taken before a Lincoln County magistrate and placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $50,000 secured bond.
