LINCOLNTON – The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously on July 15 to demolish the former downtown home of United Way of Lincoln County. The old house faced several costly repairs, including repairing the foundation in three locations, leaks in multiple areas, wood rot and plumbing. County officials have discussed turning the property into a parking lot in the downtown area. United Way relocated to the recently-renovated second story of the Lincolnton-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce building.
