Breakdown: East Lincoln will have revenge on its mind after North Lincoln made the trip to Denver Jan. 4 and escaped with a 72-66 victory. The Lady Knights raced out to a 23-9 lead after the first quarter of that contest and held on for the victory behind four scorers in double figures, led by freshman Aly Wadkovsky, who posted a dominant double-double with 19 points and 23 rebounds. East Lincoln’s Brianna Tadlock was equally impressive in a losing effort, scoring a game-high 34 points while adding 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals.
East Lincoln at North Lincoln (Boys)
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Breakdown: The Mustangs will travel to Pumpkin Center in search of a season sweep of its county rivals from North Lincoln. East Lincoln secured an 85-64 victory over the Knights Jan. 4 in Denver behind a game-high 26 points from Justin Kuthan. Senior Jake Quilla led the way for North Lincoln, posting 15 points and 7 rebounds in a losing effort. The Knights enter the contest with a 3-6 record in conference play after falling to Lake Norman Charter 61-54 Tuesday, Jan. 29. Meanwhile, the Mustangs have proven to be the class of the South Fork 2A conference and would improve to 10-0 in league play with a victory over North Lincoln.

Lincoln Charter at Highland Tech (Girls)
Time: 6 p.m.
Breakdown: The top two teams in the Southern Piedmont 1A conference will meet in Gastonia when the Lady Eagles of Lincoln Charter travel to take on the Highland Tech Lady Rams. Lincoln Charter sits atop the conference with a perfect 5-0 record entering the Friday, Feb. 1 slate of games, while Highland Tech is right on its heels at 4-1, with that only loss coming against the Lady Eagles Jan. 11. Lincoln Charter broke open what was a close game through three quarters, outscoring Highland Tech 14-4 in the final period to claim a 52-37 victory.
