NLHS Softball

The North Lincoln High School softball team won the athletic IGNITE Award for the spring semester with a cumulative GPA of 3.82. 

LINCOLNTON – Lincoln County Schools announced its spring-semester IGNITE award winners and recognized its year-end winners of the award as well during the June 9 Lincoln County Board of Education meeting.

The IGNITE Award is an academic recognition program that honors athletic and performing arts programs’ scholastic achievers in Lincoln County Schools.

The North Lincoln High School softball team earned the athletic IGNITE Award for the spring semester after posting a cumulative GPA of 3.82. The team’s success in the classroom mirrored its performance on the diamond. The Lady Knights were South Fork 2A conference champions, winning 15 consecutive games at one point during the season.

The West Lincoln High School volleyball team earned the award for the fall semester, and barely edged the North Lincoln softball team for the year-end award, with a cumulative GPA of 3.88.

NLHS Marching Band

The North Lincoln High School marching band won the year-end IGNITE Award for arts programs with a 3.51 GPA. 

The West Lincoln choir won the arts IGNITE Award for the spring semester, combining to post a 3.34 GPA.

However, this time it was North Lincoln claiming the year-end award. The Knights’ marching band finished with a GPA of 3.51.

The district also recognized one middle school program as a year-end award-winner for its academic excellence. The Lincolnton Middle School golf team earned the honor by posting a 3.54 GPA.
