Helen Ruth Sellers Hallman

LINCOLNTON – Helen Ruth Sellers Hallman, 92, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018.

She was born April 20, 1926, in Cleveland County, to the late Phillip Shank Sellers and Cara Dellinger Sellers.

She worked as desk manager for Town and Country Motel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Hallman; sisters, Betty Blanton and Jeanette Greene; and brother, William Sellers.

Survivors include her daughters, Gena Hallman Avery and husband, Joe, and Luann Hallman Keener of Denver; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services were held Aug. 31 at Salem Lutheran Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Juanita Martin Mobley Disher

LINCOLNTON – Juanita “Nita” Mobley Disher, 90, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018.

She was born Aug. 22, 1928, in Pensacola, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Alton Vaughn “Cotton” Mobley and Ralph W. Disher.

Survivors include her daughters, Karen M. Eakins and Suzanne M. Mauney of Lincolnton; stepson, Scott D. Disher, and wife, Cynthia; brother, John F. Martin; sister, Joyce M. Ragan; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services were held Sept. 2 at First United Methodist Church.

Mary Catherine Cahill Nutting

STANLEY – Mary Catherine Cahill Nutting, 97, died Aug. 25, 2018, at Stanley Total Living Center.

She was born Dec. 14, 1920, in Jacksonville, Fla., to George Newton Cahill and Mae Iverine Hettrick.

She is preceded in death by her ex-husband, Don Nutting; husband, Joe Baumgardner; daughter, Linda Nutting Kutik; sisters, Carolyn Cahill Hardwick and Betty Cahill McFarland; and daughter-in-law, Jeri Trusler Nutting.

Survivors include her son, Mickey Nutting and wife, Dana, of Denver; brothers, George Newton Cahill Jr. and Larry Cahill and wife, Amy; sister, Sandy Cahill Roberts; son-in-law, Michael A. Kutik and wife, Cindy; daughter-in-law, Marianne Nutting Boyer; five grandchildren; a step-grandchild; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A gathering was held Sept. 1 at her son’s home in Denver.
