The annual Lincolnton-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce banquet is Nov. 15 at The Laboratory Mill

LINCOLNTON – The Lincolnton-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce is holding its 2018 Annual Banquet, A Night Out with the Stars, Thursday, Nov. 15, at The Laboratory Mill.

Admission is $25 for the banquet, with dinner beginning at 7 p.m. and a program at 7:45 p.m. Cocktails will be served at a cash bar 6-7 p.m.

The Laboratory Mill is at 848 Southfork Road.



Leadership event features Dave Ramsey

STANLEY – There will be a business and leadership event featuring Dave Ramsey, Chris Hogan, Bobby Gruenewald and Scott Harrison 10:45 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9.

The EntreLeadership Live Stream is $20 and includes an event ticket, coffee bar, snacks, networking lunch and event workbook. It will be held at Hill's Chapel United Methodist Church, 988 N.C. 16 S.

John Misner named SCORE officer

CHARLOTTE – Denver’s Dr. John Misner is among the newly elected officers at Charlotte SCORE for 2018-19.

Misner, the vice president of external affairs, joined Charlotte SCORE in 2017 with nearly 40 years of experience in finance and strategic management, commercial and investment banking and higher education, according to a release from the organization.

Other officers include Don Fisher, Juliette Weiland and Jodie Anderson.

SCORE is a national volunteer organization, consisting of active, retired or semi-retired business executives and business owners. As Certified SCORE Mentors, these men and women provide free face-to-face mentoring to small businesses, including startups. Mentoring via phone, email, Skype or video conferencing is also available for time-crunched business owners.

In his elected position at Charlotte SCORE, Misner will be responsible for working on special projects as assigned by the chapter president and ensuring compliance with the SCORE Operating Manual.

Nationally, SCORE has more than 320 chapters, with more than 11,000 Certified SCORE Mentors. In the Charlotte Chapter, the 85 mentors provided nearly 2,200 client engagements in 2017.
