Jean Sifford Dellinger

STANLEY – Jean Sifford Dellinger, 87, of Lincoln County died June 5, 2018, at Harris Hospice Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte.

She was born Dec. 21, 1930, in Lincoln County to the late Guy Little Sifford and the late Helen Harkey Sifford.

She served on the Lincoln County Board of Education, The North Carolina School Boards Association and the National School Boards Association.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Michelle and Sandy.

Survivors include her husband, Jimmie C. Dellinger; a son, Timothy Dellinger and wife, Johnny Sue; three daughters, Gloria Riehl and husband, Edward, Donna Luckey and husband, Sammy, and Candy Dellinger; a brother, Clyde Sifford; two granddaughters; and two step-granddaughters.

Services were held June 10 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel.

Kenneth D. Gardner

DENVER – Kenneth D. Gardner died Monday, June 4, 2018.

He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

Bob S. Robinson

LINCOLNTON – Bob S. Robinson, 88, died Monday, June 4, 2018.

He was born May 13, 1930, in Lincoln County, to the late Joseph and Annie Ingle Robinson. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Harrison Robinson; two brothers, Charles Robinson and Bill Robinson; and a sister, Ann Dunn.

He is survived by five daughters, Krista Lawing and husband, Dean, Carol Rose, Sandy Beaver and husband, Billy, Bobbie Craig and Heather Robinson; two stepsons, Greg Hovis and Jeff Hovis and wife, Julie; special friend and companion, Betty Mauney; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. 

Services were held June 7 at Emanuel Reformed Church.

Charles Henry Dickinson 

DENVER – Charles Henry Dickinson Jr., 85, died June 3, 2018.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Services are planned for 4 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at Lake Forest Church, 8519 Gilead Road Huntersville.

DENVER – AJ Ré, 23, died June 2, 2018, at Fort Loudoun Dam in Lenoir City, Tenn.

He was born Nov. 8, 1994, in Chesapeake, Va., to Shay Holliday Ré and Arthur Ré.

He was a field service technician at Siemens.

Survivors include his sister, Kristin Ré.

A celebration of life was held June 9 at Pursuit Church.


Rasim Jacic

IRON STATION – Rasim Jacic, 43, died Sunday, June 3, 2018.

He was born Sept. 12, 1974, in Doboj, Bosnia and Herzegovina, to Fatima Brdaric and the late Rasim Jacic. 

He worked as a diesel mechanic.

Survivors include his wife, Brandy Hull Jacic of the home; and a brother, Mensur Jacic. 

A graveside service was held June 6 at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Geraldine Bryant Keener

STANLEY – Geraldine Bryant Keener, 93, died May 23, 2018, at Stanley Total Living Center. 

She was born Feb. 25, 1925, in Murray County, Ga., to the late William and Beulah Randolph Bryant. 

She worked at Bell Aircraft Corporation in Georgia

She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Keener, and a son, Mikey.

Survivors include her children, Kimberly Hull and husband Gary, and Gary Keener and wife, Judie; sisters, Betty Bandy and Elsie Deverell; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. 

Services were held May 27 at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly.
