Clinton Felix Leatherman 

LINCOLNTON – Clinton Felix Leatherman, 77, died on Monday, March 19, 2018.

He was born June 19, 1940, in Cleveland County to the late Pink and Vertie Crotts Leatherman. 

He worked as a heavy equipment operator.

Survivors include his wife, Faye Mull Leatherman; four sons, Clinton F. Leatherman Jr., Tony Leatherman, Maurice Leatherman and Nathan Leatherman; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. 

Services were held March 22 at Redeemed Baptist Church.

Judith Ann Frederick

DENVER – Judith Ann Frederick, 77, died March 17, 2018, at her residence.

She was born May 25, 1940, in Chicago to Ivy Lindros and the late LeRoy Harnstrom. 

She worked as a CNA working with hospice. 

Survivors include her children, Julie A. Lapointt, Jeweleen M. Horswell, Julia S. Frederick, Cindy T. Schreiber, Robert M. Frederick and Rodger Frederick Jr.; her sister, Linda Wayne; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at a later date in Wisconsin.

Bobby Joe Childers

DENVER – Bobby Joe Childers, 64, died Monday, March 19, 2018.

He was born Dec. 3, 1953, in Lincoln County to the late Robert Nelson and Margaret Keener Childers. 

He worked as a cable line technician for Charter Communications.

Survivors include his son, Keelan Childers and wife, Lynda; and a daughter, Katie Childers of Cherryville.

The family will hold a private service on a later date.

Owen Mickey Little

DENVER – Owen Mickey Little Jr., 80, died Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Novant Hospital.

He was born Nov. 30,1937, in Boone to Owen M. Little and Ella Davis Little.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and worked in the building products industry and as a real estate agent for several years. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Stanley Little; his son, Benjy Little and wife, Cindy; sister, Odenia Wilson; and a grandson.

A graveside service was held March 19 at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte.

Ruby Wellmon Furr

DENVER – Ruby Wellmon Furr, 86, died Thursday, March 15.

A private service will be held in the chapel of James Funeral Home. Her burial will take place in Blacksburg, S.C.

James Franklin White

LINCOLNTON – James Franklin White, 81, died Wednesday, March 14, 2018.

He was born July 27, 1936, in Lincoln County to the late Grady Andrew and Pearl Hoyle White. 

He served in the U.S. Army and then worked as an electrician for 40 years.  After retirement, he owned White’s Handcrafted Furniture. 

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter.

Survivors include his wife, Marlene Avery White; a son, James Alan White and wife, Lessie; a daughter, Peggy Atkinson and husband, Tim; a brother, Grady Lee White and wife, Ann; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Services were held March 17, 2018, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel.

Memorials may be made to Grace Christian Center, 15825 Marvin Road, Charlotte, NC 28277, and designated for the building fund.

Martha Ledford Ingle

LINCOLNTON – Martha Ledford Ingle, 87, died Sunday, March 11, 2018.

She was born March 16, 1930, in Lincoln County to the late Kempie Battle Ledford and Martha Wright Ledford.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother. 

Survivors include her husband, Lemuel “Ray” Ingle; three sons, Michael Ingle and wife, Sherri, Joe Ingle and fiancée, Cindy, and Randy Ingle and fiancée, Helena; two daughters, Wanda Sigmon and Kathy Rodden and husband, Jason; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services were held March 14 at Reepsville Baptist Church.
