Penny Gayle Sellers Goins

LINCOLNTON – Penny Gayle Sellers Goins, 71, died Sunday, May 6, 2018.

She was born May 26, 1946, in Gaston County to the late Cline and Mazel Brown Sellers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce E. Goins; and siblings, Ronnie Sellers, Billie Ann Sellers, Frankie Sellers and Vickie Sellers Lowman. 

She worked in textiles, and co-owned Honor’s System Produce Stand with her husband.

Survivors include a daughter, Terri Goins Mays, and husband, David; three sons, Timothy Bruce Goins and wife, Amy, Matthew Fred Goins and wife, Kellie, and Mark Evan Goins and wife, Cynthia; sisters, Patsy Mitchem, Shelby Sneed, Sherry Drum and Kimmie Heavner; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Services were held May 9 at South River Baptist Church.

James Lawrence Willis Alley

SHERRILLS FORD – James Lawrence Willis Alley, 67, died Wednesday, May 2, 2018. 

He was born Jan. 26, 1951, to the late James and Regena Alley.

Barbara Ellen Stringfield

DENVER – Barbara Ellen (Gaudin) Stringfield, 83, died April 27, 2018.

She was born Jan. 24, 1935, in Vevay, Ind., to the late Walter E. “Jim” and Rena (Montooth) Gaudin.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Edwin Gaudin, and sister, Juanita Jane (Gaudin) Keppler.

Survivors include her husband, Jim; children, Gregory Stringfield and wife, Isabelle, Kimberly Erwood and husband, Brian, and Karen Singleton and husband, Steve, of Denver; and four grandchildren.

She worked as an executive secretary.

Services will be held at 5 p.m. May 24 at Unity Presbyterian Church.
