Follies

Jill Heafner and Cathy Turman compete in the comedy small group category at the Lincoln County Senior Games SilverArts Follies. 

The 2019 Lincoln County Senior Games kicked off on Saturday, March 9, with the SilverArts Follies, which is the performance art portion of the competition. The performers were varied in their talents, which included music, dance and comedy.

SilverArts

Frances Senters and Dorothy Swart won the gold medal in the comedy small group category. 

The Best of Show award went to H. Michael Wirth for his vocal performance, which brought down the house. He will now advance to the N.C. Senior Games State finals.

Senior Games

Glenda Carter and Tommy Crump dance at the Lincoln County Senior Games SilverArts Follies at the Lincoln Cultural Center. The couple won the gold medal for small group dance. 

The Old Chimers, consisting of Carol Black, Donita Davis, Jill Heafner, Linda Holtsclaw, Winona Houser, Joyce Mitchem, Debra Putnam and Mary Treece.

Vocal small group: Margaret Christopher and Jim Gantt.

Vocal solo: Wirth.

Solo dance: Cathy Turman.

Small group dance:

Comedy small group:

Margaret Christopher and Jim Gantt won a silver medal for their waltz at the Lincoln County Senior Games SilverArts Follies. 

Cheerleading small group:

The WL Wildcats consisting of Donita Davis, Debra Putnam, Carol Black and Cathy Turman.

Entries for the Lincoln County Senior Games SilverArts competition are on display in the first-floor gallery at the Lincoln Cultural Center until the end of March. Awards will be given on Friday, March 15, at 11:30 a.m. The athletic portion of the games opens March 23 at the Lincolnton High School stadium at 9 a.m. The games will run through May 24.
