DENVER – A full day of Lincoln County Independence Day celebrations kicked off with the annual Westport Fourth of July Parade.

Local veterans were honored while riding in convertibles near the front of the procession, and then again after the parade at The Episcopal Church of St. Peter by-the-Lake. Lincoln County Sheriff Bill Beam led the parade and was followed by fire trucks, floats, the North Lincoln Band of Knights and children dressed in patriotic attire.

The festivities ended with a hot dog lunch.
