The East Lincoln Lady Mustangs fell just short of a South Fork 2A conference tournament championship May 3, suffering an 8-5 loss to Maiden in the championship game.

East Lincoln jumped on top early, leading 1-0 after the first inning, but a six-run third inning put Maiden on top for good. The Lady Mustangs fought back, trimming the deficit to 7-4 after five innings, but Maiden's early five-run lead was too much to overcome.

Junior Kylie Thress led the way for East Lincoln in the loss, blasting a two-run home run in the bottom of the fourth inning. Katie Hogue and Alexis Duggins chipped in with two hits apiece, including an RBI knock for Hogue.
