LINCOLNTON – Lincoln County Schools recently introduced several new administrators ahead of the 2019-20 school year.
The list includes three new elementary school administrators, each promoted from within the district.
Kellie Dellinger, a West Lincoln High School graduate, was appointed as interim principal at Union Elementary earlier this year following a stint as assistant principal at North Brook Elementary. Dellinger’s interim tag has been removed after four months on the job, and she’ll now move forward as the school’s permanent principal.
Joining Dellinger at Union will be Sherrie Davis, who will serve as assistant principal/Title 1 interventionist. Davis previously worked as a first-grade teacher at North Brook.
Sheila Wright will assume the vacancy left at North Brook when Dellinger was named interim principal at Union. Wright, who previously taught third grade at Pumpkin Center Intermediate School, will serve as assistant principal/Title 1 interventionist at North Brook.
The district also announced the hiring of two new administrators at the middle school level, with each coming to Lincoln County from Hickory.
Justin Lunsford, a career math teacher with Hickory Public Schools, will take over as assistant principal at West Lincoln Middle School. Lunsford will take over for Ann Cesena, who retired following the 2018-19 school year.
Rounding out the list is Casey Oakes, who has been hired as the assistant principal at Lincolnton Middle School. Oakes, who gained familiarity with the district as a student teacher at North Lincoln High School, has been the band director at St. Stephens High School in Hickory since 2013.
