DENVER – The 2018 Walk for Life is Sept. 15 at Denver Baptist Church’s West Campus.
The event, which runs 8:30-10 a.m., is a fundraiser for the Heartbeats Women’s Center, 4264 N.C. 16 N.
Walkers who raise more than $150 will receive a free T-Shirt, which are also available for purchase at the event.

Heartbeats provides abortion clinic alternative services, free pregnancy tests, information on abortion procedures and pregnancy options. The center’s services and resources are intended for all persons who genuinely seek its caring help.
CROP Hunger Walk will be held at Rock Springs Campground
DENVER – The East Lincoln Area CROP Hunger Walk will be held Oct. 7 at Rock Springs Campground.
CROP Hunger Walks are community-wide events sponsored by Church World Service and organized by religious groups, businesses, schools and others. The 3.3-mile walk raises funds to end hunger in the U.S. and around the world.
Registration is at 1 p.m., with the walk beginning at 2 p.m.

Unity program teaches about church
DENVER – Unity Presbyterian Church will hold an Inquirers Class at noon Sept. 16 in the fellowship hall.
This program serves as a way to learn more about Unity, its Presbyterian beliefs and the programs offered there. Those interested will also be given a chance to join the church. Although this program is designed to introduce newcomers to the church, anyone interested is invited to attend.
A light lunch will be served. People can sign up in the church’s gathering area.
