LINCOLNTON – In addition to all of the Veterans Day festivities taking place over the weekend, downtown Lincolnton will be the backdrop for a lot of other events Nov. 9-10.

The Culture Crawl

Taking place 5-10 p.m. Nov. 9 in downtown Lincolnton, the Cultural Crawl aims to bring people to the local shops. Merchants will host artists, musicians, performers and other entertainers in the shops for visitors to enjoy.

The event is sponsored by the Downtown Development Association of Lincolnton.

Chalk Walk

Artists will be taking to the sidewalks 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 10 for the Chalk Walk at Court Square and East Main Street.

People will be drawing street art, and the goal is for the downtown sidewalks to “come alive with colorful artwork,” according to an event description.

Christmas Open House

Both of the events are part of the Downtown Christmas Open House Weekend, where shops will have specials and activities taking place all day.

People can peruse the stores and kick start their holiday shopping, take a look at things for themselves or simply admire the new wares, holiday displays and specials.

Among the offerings are antiques and vintage furnishings, holiday decor, locally made gifts, jewelry, women’s boutique items and more. Plus, people can stop to have a bite to eat at one of the downtown restaurants.

The event is sponsored by the Downtown Development Association of Lincolnton.

And don’t forget…

The deadline for entries for the 60th annual Christmas parade is Thursday, Nov. 15. People can enter by going to The parade takes place at 4 p.m., followed by the tree-lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25.
