It’s been more than two years since Acropolis Café & Grill closed its doors to make way for a QuikTrip that was approved for the spot on West Catawba Avenue east of the Interstate 77 interchange. New designs for road construction plans put the project in limbo, but that changed with the demolition of the restaurant this week.

John DiBernardo with QuikTrip Corporation confirmed in an email July 8 that it was back on track. DiBernardo said he hopes to be in full construction in the next 90 days.
