HUNTERSVILLE – The St. Mark Catholic Church Parish Mission welcomes Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers for a three-day series Oct. 21-23.
On Oct. 21, Burke-Sivers will address questions dealing with “Why be Catholic?”
On Oct. 22, he will discuss the difference between “true happiness” and “feeling good,” and discover the ideological factors that hinder and impede the pursuit of happiness.
The final day Burke-Sivers will examine how Reconciliation and the Eucharist are the fruits of the Heavenly Father’s divine mercy, and the source of a person’s interior transformation and conversion from sin.
The series takes place each day at 6:30 p.m. at the Kerin Family Center Parish Hall.
Autumnfest coming to HPC
HUNTERSVILLE – Huntersville Presbyterian Church members will be hosting their annual Autumnfest celebration Oct. 27.
The event is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and involves barbecue, a carnival, live entertainment, vendors, sidewalk chalk art, a bake sale and silent auction. All proceeds from that day benefit the church’s youth and children’s ministries.
Huntersville Presbyterian is at 201 S. Old Statesville Road.
DUMC hosts grief support class
DAVIDSON – There will be a Grief Support class starting Oct. 22 at Davidson United Methodist Church.
The 10-week support group meets 7-8:30 p.m. Mondays in the Davidson UMC Congregational Care house, 262 South St. The group will not meet the week of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s.

Church seeks volunteers for Packathon
HUNTERSVILLE – Lake Norman Baptist Church needs help with its Feed the Hunger Packathon Oct. 26 and 27.
In the Worship Center, the church will be packing 200,000 meals that will be distributed by LNBC mission teams.
