Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools has rolled out a new website with a new branding and along with it, a new message: “We Are CMS.”
The district’s message is also its new URL, weareCMS.com, and the first of a series of videos from the CMS Communications staff was released at the end of June that “will portray our district in ways that numbers cannot,” a statement from the district reads.
Gone is the red featured on the old site, replaced by a lighter shade of blue and less cluttered interface.
According to CMS, the two top-line goals of the new website are to:
• Empower – support the CMS commitment to equity through better access to information that can empower our students, families, staff and community.
• Inspire – give students, families, staff and the community stories, accomplishments and a vision of paths forward for students in life.
In the video, CMS claims “we are” 43 different words and phrases, including “what if,” “got this” and “grit,” and ending with “We Are CMS.”
Though the URL is new, CMS faculty and staff emails remain unchanged.
CMS says it will continue to make improvements and upgrades to the site over the summer based on continuing feedback from stakeholders.
