Poppies

At the beginning of their May 21 meeting, members of the Huntersville town board unanimously endorsed a resolution designating Memorial Day – Monday, May 28 – also as “Poppy Day” in Huntersville. Commissioners joined representatives of the American Legion Post 321 Auxiliary in promoting awareness of the annual poppy campaign affiliated with Memorial Day. Members of the Auxiliary will be selling commemorative poppies for individuals to wear on Memorial Day. Funds from the poppy sale will support   American Legion programs.
