Join the Town of Cornelius and American Legion Post 86 on Monday, May 28, for the community’s annual Memorial Day Ceremony remembering and honoring the service members and their families who have sacrificed to protect our nation and the freedom we enjoy.

This special ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. on the lawn of Cornelius Town Hall, 21445 Catawba Ave. In the event of rain, the ceremony will be moved inside to Community Hall.

Gene McKinney from Post 86 will be the master of ceremonies. The JRTOC units from Hough and Hopewell high schools will participate in the program along with the Mooresville Senior High Chorus.

The keynote speaker for the ceremonies will be U.S. Army Major General (Ret.) James B. Mallory III.
