HUNTERSVILLE – A manufacturing facility announced in 2017 is finally taking shape in The Park - Huntersville office and industrial complex.
Construction is in progress on Daumar Corporation buildings at 13265 Reese Blvd. E. in the interior of The Park’s primary loop. The company is creating a 113,000-square-foot production plant and a 27,000-square-foot office building on an 11-acre site in the business park on the south side of Gilead Road west of Interstate 77.
In August 2017, Daumar, a branch of Daumar S.L. based in Spain, announced its intentions to invest $21 million in the first phase of its production campus in Huntersville.
The company, founded in 1953, specializes in blown film extrusion products and knitted netting material used in produce packaging. The company has operations in 30 countries and manufactures machinery and the materials used in the machines to produce packaging for the fresh produce industry. Company products include weighing machines, bagging machines, auxiliary equipment, netting and printed labels.
When announcing plans for the Huntersville facility, Daumar officials said initial operations at the new plant will create 40 new jobs. Weather issues have impacted the construction schedule, but the project is expected to be completed later this year.
