Huntersville's Kaylen Morgan is one of just 25 gymnasts named to the U.S. National Team.

Huntersville’s Kaylen Morgan finished third in the floor exercise in the Junior Cup division at the 2019 Gymnix International competition March 8-10 in Montreal.

It was Morgan’s first competition as one of just 25 gymnasts on the U.S. National Team.

Morgan, 14, who trains at Everest Gymnastics in Cornelius, also finished ninth in the vault, 11th in all-around, 12th in uneven bars and 13th on the beam.

Her highest score was a 9.6 for her floor routine.

“This is such an incredible honor for Kaylen, as it has been her dream to represent our country in gymnastics,” Everest Gymnastics owners and coaches Han Qi and Yiwen Chen said in a statement. “Kaylen has worked so hard for this.”

During her nearly four years of training at Everest, Morgan has competed in the 2016 Women’s Junior Olympic National Championships, the 2017 Hopes Championships and the 2018 Nastia Liukin Cup.
