men that cook

Some of the winning chefs from last year's Men That Cook event, which generates funds for area nonprofits.

Wings, barbecue, casseroles, seafood mac & cheese and some other personal specialties will be among the menu items featured at the second annual Men That Cook fundraiser sponsored by the Huntersville Happy Hour Rotary Club.

The luncheon, featuring two seatings – 11 a.m -12:30 p.m., 12:30 - 2 p.m. – will be held Sunday, March 31, at Langtree Plantation, 554 Langtree Road off Interstate 77 at Exit 31. The event will benefit regional nonprofit organizations.

Sixteen teams have paid to enter the tasting competition to raise money for their favorite nonprofits. Some of last year’s winning chefs raised money for organizations including Lydia’s Loft, Our Towns Habitat for Humanity, the Mooresville Soup Kitchen, Catherine’s House, the Pinky Swear Foundation and the Queen City Honor Flight program. Food categories will include entrees, beans and soup, desserts and more.

Tickets are $10 in advance, available, and $15 at the door. There will also be two silent auctions held during the day.
