The second annual Lake Norman Christmas Lighted Boat Parade may have suffered being in the wake of rainy weather Dec. 15, but several-dozen people still made their way to the Duke Energy Energy Explorium to watch the ending of the parade.

Adding to the festivities at the Energy Explorium were photos with Santa, crafts and food trucks. Christine Pulley, spokesperson for McGuire Nuclear Station, said the facility typically has a holiday event, but this was the first time the company partnered with the boat parade.

Colin Furcht started the boat parade last year. It was expanded and again had a toy drive component that benefited Little Smiles, which offers toys, blankets and other items to youth in hospitals or suffering difficult situations.
