Edwin Alexander McAuley

DAVIDSON – Edwin Alexander McAuley, 87, died July 4, 2019, at The Pines at Davidson.

He was born July 26, 1931, to Harry Tracy and Bess Thompson McAuley.

He worked in sales for Hormel Foods.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gwen Alexander McAuley; brothers, Jim, Buck, Harold, Tom, John and Pat McAuley; and sisters, Helen “Sis” Stewart, Doris Jenkins and Kate Irvin.

Survivors include his daughter, Joy McAuley; son, Mark McAuley and wife, Cathy, of Huntersville; two grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.

Services were held July 7 at Hopewell Presbyterian Church.

Wilson Delane Johnston

HUNTERSVILLE – Wilson Delane Johnston, 76, died July 3, 2019.

He was born Jan. 30, 1943, to the late Arnold Wilson and Mildred Ferrell Johnston.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and worked as a regional manager for Crane Carrier Corporation.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Glenn Caldwell Johnston.

Survivors include his sisters, Gloria Johnston and Judy Johnston.

Services were held July 7 at James Funeral Home.

Homer Bernard Lovvorn

DAVIDSON – Homer Bernard Lovvorn, 87, died June 29, 2019.

He was born July 16, 1932, near Carrollton, Ga., to the late Homer and Florine (Johnson) Lovvorn.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran and retired from Electronic Data Systems in New Zealand.

He was preceded in death by his former wife, Jeanette; and sisters, Virgie Walker, Betty Barrett and Pat Stokes.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie; daughter, Cynthia Millsaps and husband, William; sons, Jeff Lovvorn and wife, Debbie, and Bruce Lovvorn and wife, Johanna; sister, Judy Conrad; stepson, Rick Beard and wife, Mavis; stepdaughters, Jamie Page, Lorraine Redmond and Stacey Pride; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and 10 step-grandchildren.

Services were held July 6 at Davidson United Methodist Church.

Angela Farster Kammler

HUNTERSVILLE – Angela Farster Kammler, 42, died June 28, 2019.

She was born Dec. 12, 1976, in Hammond, Ind., to Elizabeth Kulan Farster and the late Robert Farster.

Survivors include her mother; husband, Dean; daughter, Kelsey Kammler; and brother, Andrew Farster, all of Huntersville.

Services were held July 3 at James Funeral Home.

Ruby Walker Alexander

DAVIDSON – Ruby Walker Alexander, 82, died June 27, 2019.

She was born Dec. 11, 1936, in Asheboro to the late Emory and Clara Walker.

She taught at Huntersville Elementary School and retired from Cornelius Elementary.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Alexander Brown.

Survivors include her husband, Jim; daughter, Anne Veleke and husband, Brian; one granddaughter; and four step-grandchildren.

Services were held July 2 at Davidson United Methodist Church.

CORNELIUS – David Walter Sawchak, 67, died June 24, 2019.

He was born Dec. 25, 1951.

He worked in the solar energy industry.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 13, at Grace Covenant Church.
