CORNELIUS – Tony Gene Basinger, 70, died July 17, 2018, at his home.

He was born May 4, 1948, in Mecklenburg County to the late Sidney and Annie Basinger.

He was a deacon and treasurer of Bethel Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Dianne Morgan Basinger; sons, Christopher Todd Basinger and wife, Lauren, and Andrew Stewart Basinger of Cornelius; brother, Lee Basinger; and three grandchildren.

Services were held July 19 at Bethel Presbyterian Church.

Brenda Kay Kissee

CHARLOTTE – Brenda Kay Kissee, 73, died July 17, 2018, at her residence.

She was born July 6, 1945, in Charlotte to the late Robert and Gladys (Blanton) Queen.

She was preceded in death by her sister.

Survivors include her husband, Timothy Kissee; daughter, Kymberlee Sanders and husband, Glenn; and two granddaughters.

David Nicholas Vaseleniuck

CORNELIUS – David Nicholas Vaseleniuck, 69, died July 16, 2018.

He was born in Windsor, Ontario, to Mary (Tonita) Vaseleniuck.

He worked in the racing industry and founded VazTec, LLC.

Survivors include his mother; wife, Susan Springhorn Vaseleniuck; children, Virginia Vaseleniuck Blake, Darrick Nicholas Vaseleniuck and wife, Dawn Vaseleniuck, and Susan Vaseleniuck Piazza and husband, Giuseppe “Joe” Piazza; brothers, George Vaseleniuck and wife, Betty, Ivan Vaseleniuck and wife, Phyllis, and Victor Vaseleniuck and partner, Sharon; and eight grandchildren.

Services were held July 21 at Davidson United Methodist Church.

Linda Stevens Dickerson

HUNTERSVILLE – Linda Stevens Dickerson, 77, died July 16, 2018, at Levine-Dickson Hospice House.

She was born May 28, 1941.

Glenn Wallace Ferrell

CORNELIUS – Glenn Wallace Ferrell, 87, died July 15, 2018, at his home.

He was born Feb. 15, 1931, in Mecklenburg County to the late Glenwood and Ileen Ferrell.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy Reserves and retired from BellSouth.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard and Ralph Ferrell; and sister, Merle Ferrell.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Hunter Ferrell; sons, Glenn W. Ferrell Jr. and wife, Brenda, and Jeffrey H. Ferrell; sisters, Audrey McKenzie and Glenda Sustar; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services were held July 20 at Bethel Presbyterian Church with burial at the church cemetery.

Theodore Wakefield Taylor

CHARLOTTE – Theodore “Ted” Wakefield Taylor Jr., 91, died July 14, 2018, at Asbury Care Center.

He was born Sept. 21, 1926, in Harrisburg to the late Theodore Wakefield Taylor and Lila Barley Taylor.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran and was owner/president of T-C Construction Company Inc.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne; daughter, Linda Dianne; brothers, J. D. and Howard; sisters, Martha Ann and Maye; and granddaughter, Amy Taylor Harvell.

Survivors include her daughters, Shelby Wallace and husband, Johnny, of Huntersville, and Beverly Burton and husband, Matthew; son, Tim Taylor and wife Carol, of Huntersville; sister, Kathy Howell; sister-in-law, Pat Taylor; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services were held July 21 at University City United Methodist Church.

DAVIDSON – Charlotte Kommer Ferrero, 89, died July 13, 2018, at The Pines at Davidson.

She was born July 4, 1929, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to the late James Kommer and Loulou Kommer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony R. Ferrero.  

Survivors include her sons, Richard Ferrero and wife, Lisa, James Ferrero and Michael Ferrero and wife, Jane; and eight grandchildren.

Services will be held privately in McMurray, Penn.
