William Lester Wilson

CORNELIUS – William “Bud” Lester Wilson, 81, died July 3, 2018, at Atrium Health.

He was born May 21, 1937, in Iredell County to the late Coleman and Mary Wilson.

Survivors include his wife, Candi Boyles Wilson; son, Shan Wilson and wife, Jennifer; daughter, Joy Haigler and husband, Jeff; and sister, Peggy Lowrance.

Services were held July 5 in the Family Life Center at Bethel Presbyterian Church.

Floyd Irvin Hagler

HUNTERSVILLE – Floyd Irvin Hagler Jr., 83, died July 1, 2018, in Huntersville.

He was born Nov. 23, 1934, in North Carolina to the late Floyd and Louise Hagler.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace; sister, Patricia; and brothers, Gary and Randy.

Survivors include his daughter, Deborah Kay Edwards and husband, Danny; sons, Floyd I. Hagler III and wife, Debra, of Cornelius, and Curtis Tilden Hagler and wife, Kelli; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services were held July 5 at at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home.

John Christopher Adkins

CORNELIUS – John Christopher “Chris” Adkins, 57, died June 28, 2018.

He was born March 4, 1961, in Wayne County, W.Va., to Mary Sue Sayre Street and the late William Allen Adkins.

He worked in the land development business, most recently for The Lodges at Eagles Nest in Banner Elk.

Survivors include his mother and brothers, William Nathan Adkins and wife, Lavi, and Mark Robert Adkins and fiancée, Janet Robinson, all of Cornelius.

Daniel Ray Maston

HUNTERSVILLE – Daniel Ray Maston, 41, June 27, 2018.

He was born to Sun-Mi Yu Maston and the late John G. Maston.

He worked as a pharmacy technician at Walgreens.

Frances Shaver Perry

HUNTERSVILLE – Frances Shaver Perry, 80, died June 27, 2018, at Olde Knox Commons.

She was born Feb. 10, 1938, to the late Glenn and Lillie Shaver.

She worked for the Social Security Administration.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Lucille Hair, Lois Shaver and Juanita Shaw; and brothers, Charles, Walter, Glenn Jr. and John.

Survivors include her son, Kevin and wife, Kelly; sisters, Ruby Herrell and Virgie Monger; brothers, Gene Shaver and Fred Shaver and wife, Ernestine; and one grandson.

Services were to be held in Knoxville, Tenn.

Ruthie Mae Knaff 

HUNTERSVILLE – Ruthie Mae Myrick Knaff, 79, died June 26, 2018, at her home.

She was born on May 4, 1939, in Detroit, Mich., to the late Randall and Lueranah Drake Myrick.

Survivors include her sons, Lorenzo Knaff of Huntersville and Alphonso Knaff; siblings, Emma Myrick, Helen Payne, Raymond Myrick, Roman Myrick and Rebbie Myrick; and three grandchildren.

Arta Sue Wood Cagle

DAVIDSON – Arta Sue Wood Cagle, 83, died June 26, 2018. 

She was born Sept. 14, 1934, in Bristow, Okla., to the late Emma and Neal Wood.

She worked in accounting for J.C. Penney.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Cagle.

Survivors include her daughters, Tonya and husband, Kelvin, and Kimberly and husband, Michael; sister, Anita; brother, Neal; and six grandchildren.

James Edward Ridle

CHARLOTTE – James “Jim” Edward Ridle, 74, died June 4, 2018, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.

He was born June 2, 1944, in Denver, Colo., to the late Harold Ridle and Mildred (Jackie) Childress.

He worked on a whale boat and later for Red Jacket Electronics.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Sue.

Survivors include his wife, Pat (Lowe, Ousley) Ridle; daughter, Brandi (Ridle) Rezentes and husband, Michael; brother, William (Bill) Ridle; sister, Margaret Kuethe; and four grandchildren.

Services will be held in August at Bethel Presbyterian Church in Cornelius.
