Constance Sophia Moran

FUQUAY VARINA – Constance Sophia Moran, 80, died July 10, 2018.

She was born in Glen Lyon, Pa., to the late Edward and Sophia Mucha Sugalski. 

She served as a nurse in the U.S. Navy and was in the medical field her entire career.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bryan Peter Moran; and sisters, Caroline Sugalski and Eleanor Sugalski.

Survivors include her sons, Mark K. Moran and wife, Isabel, and Stephen B. Moran and wife, Diana; daughter, Karen M. Velasquez and husband, Jouel, of Huntersville; and seven grandchildren.

Services were held July 12 in the chapel of James Funeral Home.

Michael Jo Mraz

HUNTERSVILLE – Michael Jo Mraz, 63, died July 9, 2018.

He was born in Painesville, Ohio, to the late Donald and Helen Mraz.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and worked as an IT project manager in the banking industry.

Survivors include his wife, Debra Miyakawa Mraz; daughters, Robi Mraz-McGirr and Amy Kimiko Mraz; brother, Ronald Mraz and wife, Char; and brother-in-law, Jerry Washizaki and wife, Sharon.

Services were held July 15 in the chapel of James Funeral Home.

Francis J. McCann

CORNELIUS – Francis J. “Frank” McCann, 76, died July 8, 2018.

He was born in New York to the late Francis and Margaret McCann.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran and was a certified public accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Mullarkey, and daughter, Sharon Bearden.

Survivors include his wife, Karen McCann; sons, Fran and wife, Sharon, Mike and wife, Leslie, Matt and wife, Renee and Dan and wife, Kelly; daughters, Kerry Frey and husband, Mike, and Christina Sweeney and husband, Matt; son-in-law, Brian Bearden; sister, Clare McCann; and 17 grandchildren.

Services were held July 13 at James Funeral Home and July 14 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

Phyllis Fleenor

HUNTERSVILLE – Phyllis Fleenor, 91, died July 8, 2018, in Denver.

She was born Oct. 24, 1926, in Glasgow, Scotland, to the late Joseph and Katherine Wilson. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Richard Jr.; son, Bryan Richard Fleenor; and brothers, Archie, Jim and John.

Survivors include her son, Joseph Lee and wife, Charlotte, of Denver; daughters, Kathy Clemmer and husband, Bill, of Denver and Lynn White and husband, Jeff; sister; Rena Knox; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Services were held July 11 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home and Huntersville Presbyterian Church.

Walter Charles Otto

HUNTERSVILLE – Walter Charles Otto, 92, died July 7, 2018, in Huntersville.

He was born June 8, 1926, in Ridgewood, N.Y., to the late John and Sophie Otto.

He was preceded in death by his brother, John Otto, and sister, Mildred Otto.

Survivors include his wife, Florence Otto; son, Brian Otto and wife, Debbie, of Huntersville; daughter, Karen Otto; and three grandchildren.

Robert Lawson Price

MOORESVILLE – Robert Lawson Price, 82, died July 6, 2018, at his home.

He was born Nov. 16, 1935, in Charlotte to the late Walter Hampton and Ruby Stutts Price.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and worked as a serviceman mostly for Carolina Time Equipment.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Aileen, and brother, William David “Sonny” Price.

Survivors include his daughter, Susan Elkin, and husband, Brian; brother, Richard Price, and wife, Daryl; and three grandchildren.

Services were held July 11 at the Cavin-Cook Funeral Home chapel.

Fred Richardson

HUNTERSVILLE – Fred Richardson, 69, died July 3, 2018.

He was born Nov. 16, 1948, to Robert and Lucinda Richardson.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Richardson; son, George R. Richardson, and wife, Alice, of Huntersville; daughter, Jennifer Lynn Richardson of Huntersville; siblings, Gloria Smith and Mary Nesmith; and eight grandchildren.

Services were held privately.
