William G. Huddleston

CHARLOTTE – William “Bill” G. Huddleston, 87, died Sept. 4, 2018.

He was born May 5, 1931, in Charlotte to the late Glenn and Mary Huddleston.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran and worked as a customer service engineer for IBM.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Huddleston; son, Wayne Huddleston; daughter, Cindy Earnhardt and husband, Ted; sister, Doris Mathis and husband, Troy; brother-in-law, Bobby Wilson and wife, Sue; and two granddaughters.

Erin Hoover Milstead

HUNTERSVILLE – Erin Hoover Milstead, 34, died Sept. 4, 2018.

She was born to Harry and Terry Hoover.

She worked as a preschool teacher and event coordinator.

Survivors include her parents; husband, Paul; children, Preston and Hayden; stepson, Kohl Milstead; brother, Harry; and sister-in-law, Cassie.

Services were held Sept. 7 at Forest Lawn West and Sept. 9 at Elevation Church – University.

Penelope Strebler

HUNTERSVILLE – Penelope Strebler (nee Parmelee), 80, died Sept. 1, 2018, at the Novant Health in Charlotte.

She was born July 5, 1938, in Kingston, N.Y.

She worked as a secretary at the Kingston IBM plant.

Survivors include her husband, John Strebler; children, Jennifer Strebler, Christopher Strebler of Huntersville and Joshua Strebler of Huntersville; brother, William Parmelee; and sister, Priscilla Robbins.

No memorial service was held, and the burial was private.

HUNTERSVILLE – Ivonne Morgan died Aug. 29, 2018, at the Huntersville Oaks.

Services were held at Northlake Memorial Gardens, and a celebration of life is planned for November.

MOORESVILLE – Umberto "Bert" William Cusanelli, 88, died Aug. 30, 2018.

He was born Nov. 13, 1929, in New York to the late Maria Carmela Lepore and Nicholas Cusanelli.

Survivors include his daughter, Mary Jean VanDeBogart and husband, Richard; sons, Frank Cusanelli and wife, Erica, and Joseph Cusanelli; brother, Patrick Cusanelli; and four grandchildren.

Roddy J. Rockholt

HUNTERSVILLE – Roddy J. Rockholt, 62, died Aug. 27, 2018.

He was born Nov. 16, 1955, in Mecklenburg County to the late Jack Rockholt and Frances Abernethy Privett.

He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and worked at Freightliner in Mount Holly.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara; son, Roddy and wife, Christen; daughters, Ashley Hager and husband, Jonathan, and Amber Blackmon and husband, Jeremy; siblings, Terry Garmon and husband, Hal, and Marsha Evans and husband, Tommy; and six grandchildren.

Services were held Sept. 1 in the chapel of James Funeral Home.

Dorothy Jean Tews

CORNELIUS – Dorothy Jean Tews, 91, died Aug. 27, 2018.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Tews.

George Charles McCausland

HUNTERSVILLE – George Charles McCausland, 84, died Aug. 24, 2018, in Kalkaska, Mich.

He was born Oct. 16, 1933, in Toronto, Canada, to the late George Albert and Jane “Ena” McCausland.

He worked in the travel industry and was president of Huntersville Lions Club.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia A. McCausland; son, David D. McCausland; and sisters, Audrey Blucher, Gloria McCausland and Gladys Connelly.

Survivors include his sons, George S. McCausland and James C. McCausland; daughter, Tracey A. Scheid; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services were held Sept. 8 at Kalkaska Funeral Home in Michigan. Burial was held at Mt Zion Community Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the local Lions Club or Alzheimer’s group.
