Quick work by the Huntersville Fire Department saved a home from severe damage from a blaze likely caused by a lightning strike Thursday evening. Firefighters responding on Engine 4 executed a “quick knockdown” of the fire in the attic of the one-story house on O’Hara Street, near Hopewell High School, HFD said. Damage was limited to the attic, living room and a portion of the kitchen. Storms brought heavy rain and intense lighting to the area late Thursday.
