CORNELIUS – Hough capitalized on a couple of errant throws by Richmond Senior to win 3-1 Friday in the second round of the 4A state playoffs.

In the bottom of the third inning with the score at 1-1 and a runner on third, the Richmond pitch got past the catcher, allowing the Huskies to take the lead.

Then in the fourth, following a steal of second, the Raiders' pitcher was keen on picking off the runner, but several attempts later threw the ball into center field, which let the runner advance to third. He would then score on a sacrifice fly to deep right-center field.

Huskies pitcher Adam Bennett threw a complete game to earn the win.

Hough will travel to Providence Tuesday, May 14.
