Drugs may have been involved in the deaths of two men who were found in a Mooresville home April 17, police say.
“While this is still an active death investigation, we are looking at the case as a possible overdose,” Mooresville Police Department Maj. Ron Chilton said Tuesday. “No foul play is suspected. With that said, an official cause of death has not been determined. We will go by the medical examiner’s determination whenever that is released.”
Andrew J. Owens, 34, of Cornelius, and Andrew F. Carter, 34, of Mooresville were dead when Iredell County EMS and Mooresville Fire-Rescue responded to a call shortly after noon at 162 Devon Forest Drive. A caller to 911 reported finding “two subjects found unresponsive.”
The home, near the intersection N.C. 801 and N.C. 150, is owned by Ann J. Carter, according to county tax records.
