DAVIDSON – Southwire Company, LLC, a manufacturer of wire and cable used in the distribution and transmission of electricity, was honored Nov. 16 for its diversity and inclusion practices by the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce.

Southwire’s Huntersville facility was singled out among Lake Norman companies for its hiring and management practices and for encouraging its employees to develop a better understanding and appreciation of other employees when it comes to sex, race and cultural identity, according to a release from the chamber.

 

Office furniture store opening

CORNELIUS – There will be a ribbon-cutting and grand opening for Carolina Office Solutions 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29.

The Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce event will be at 19706 One Norman Blvd., Suite B, beside Planet Fitness.

The store is based out of Charlotte. 

 

Huntersville Chamber to hold holiday meeting

HUNTERSVILLE – The holiday Huntersville Chamber of Commerce member event will combine the November and December meetings and take place on Dec. 6. 

City Barbeque, on Gilead Road, will host the meeting from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. with breakfast muffins and coffee.

There will be a holiday raffle, and members are encouraged to be prepared to detail upcoming holiday specials so members can share to their respective customers.
