Area residents who brought the essence of Lake Norman living into sharp focus have earned recognition from the Visit Lake Norman organization. In late December, VLN officials announced the winners of the agency’s fourth annual “Capture Lake Norman” photo contest.

The purpose of the contest is to reveal and promote aspects of Lake Norman that capture visitor’s attention. Whether a lake sunset, delicious food at a local restaurant, lake activities with family and friends, upscale shopping or a great experience at one of Lake Norman’s many parks, VLN representatives reviewed a wide range of submitted entries before selecting the winning photos.

The first-place winner in the most recent contest is Fred Cerbini for his photo of a boat on the lake. Jill Martin claimed second place for her sunrise dock photo, and Lauren Antanaitis earned third place for her photo of a sunset illustrating the tranquility of the lake.

In addition to being featured in the next edition of the Official Lake Norman Visitors Guide, the photos also earned the winning photographers additional prizes. Cerbini will receive a $200 Visa gift card and a 1.5-hour paddleboard lesson for two provided by Aloha Paddle Sports. Martin will win a $100 VISA gift card and Oakley sunglasses. And Antanaitis will get a $50 Visa gift card and Oakley backpack.
