HUNTERSVILLE – A Huntersville man faces multiple charges in connection with an armed robbery Wednesday at the McDonald’s off Gilead Road, west of Interstate 77 Exit 23.
Devaughn Thompson, 22, is charged with armed robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of assault by pointing a gun and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Huntersville Police Department officers responded to a report of an armed at the restaurant at about 2:55 a.m. Wednesday. The suspect had fled, but detectives were able to identify Thompson as a suspect. He was arrested later Wednesday, HPD said.
Thompson reportedly showed a gun during the robbery. No one was injured in the robbery.
