She was president of the South Piedmont Chapter Auxiliary of the Professional Engineers of North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Sue Conner; son-in-law, Chris Holcombe; mother-in-law, Lilla Campbell Rucker; and father-in-law, Dana Henry Rucker Jr.

Survivors include her husband, Dana H. Rucker III; sons, Robert D. Rucker and wife, Debbie; Joseph B. Rucker and wife, Judy; daughter, Donna R. Holcombe, of Huntersville; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
