Regina Veerkamp

HUNTERSVILLE – Regina Veerkamp, 90, died Feb. 17, 2017.

She was born Regina van den Hoogen June 25, 1926, in Uden, Netherlands.

She worked as a domestic helper.

Veerkamp was preceded in death by her brother, Daaf van den Hoogen.

Survivors include her daughter, Helen Veerkamp Draheim and husband, Mark Draheim; son, Anthony Veerkamp and partner, Michael Paulos; sister, Elizabeth Ariens and husband, Henk; brothers-in-law, Jan van den Hoogen and Anton Veerkamp; sisters-in-law, Paula van den Hoogen, Riet Veerkamp and Nolda van den Hoogen; and one granddaughter.

Services were held Feb. 20 at James Funeral Home.

Patricia Roberts Stephens

HUNTERSVILLE – Patricia Roberts Stephens, 80, died Feb.17, 2017, at Olde Knox Commons.

She was born Oct. 26, 1936, in Charlotte to the late Marion and Lula Cooke Roberts.

Survivors include her son, William “Buzz” Stephens of Huntersville; daughter, Sharon Turner and husband, Ed, of Huntersville; sister, Eleanor Fowler and husband, George; brother, Stephen Roberts and wife, Joan; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held Feb. 20 at Oak Grove United Methodist Church.

HUNTERSVILLE – Roger Wittkop, 79, died Feb. 15, 2017.

He worked for Schein Pharmaceuticals in Connecticut.

Clyde Washington Smith

HUNTERSVILLE – Clyde Washington Smith, 82, died Feb. 12, 2017.

He was born Feb. 22, 1934, in Manhattan, N.Y.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Nannette; son, Donovan Smith; and one grandchild.

Services were held Feb. 15 in the James Funeral Home chapel.

Albert Allan Pearson

HUNTERSVILLE – Albert Allan Pearson, 81, died Feb. 8, 2017, at his home.

He was born April 28, 1935, in Wilkes-Barre, Penn., to the late Albert F. and Jeannette R. Pearson.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran and owned Fotorecord Company in Pennsylvania.

Pearson was preceded in death by his brother, Roland Pearson, and sister, Carol Pearson Noel.

Survivors include his children, Mark Pearson; Kelly Carpenter and husband, Todd, of Huntersville; brother, Richard Pearson and wife, Eleanore; sister-in-law, Lois Pearson; and two grandchildren.

Services were held Feb. 13 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home.

Fred Henry Lentz Jr. 

CORNELIUS – Fred Henry Lentz Jr., 79, died Feb. 8, 2017, at his home.

He was born Sept. 24, 1937, in Asheville to the late Fred and Grace Lentz.

He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and was self-employed.

Survivors include his wife, Caroline Hammond Lentz; sons, John and wife, Barbara, and Dean and wife, Rachell; sister, Helen; and three grandchildren.

Services were held Feb. 13 at Bethel Presbyterian Church.

She was born on June 4, 1950, to the late Clara Marie “Boots” and Harvey Holland.
