DAVIDSON – Dan Nichols, called “one of America’s most dynamic, influential and beloved Jewish musicians” on the event poster, will be performing Sept. 25 at Temple Kol Tikvah.

The Jewish Council of Lake Norman is hosting the event, which also celebrates Sukkot with Pizza-in-the Hut. Doors open for the solo concert at 6 p.m., and the performance starts at 7 p.m.

The cost is $5 for adults and $1 for children.

AWANA starts at Peninsula Baptist

MOORESVILLE – AWANA begins for the fall season at 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, at Peninsula Baptist Church.

AWANA is a ministry aimed at reaching boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ. It is for ages 2 through those in sixth grade.

Class sizes are limited, and registration is open to church members first. The 2-year-old and 3 years to Pre-K classes are full and have a waitlist.

Guy Penrod comes to Southside Baptist

MOORESVILLE – Artist Circle tickets are sold out, but general admission concert tickets for Guy Penrod’s Saturday, Sept. 15, appearance are still available at Southside Baptist Church.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the concert begins at 6 p.m.

Penrod will be doing his Pray about Everything tour. He is a Grammy and Dove Award-winning gospel music singer with a country style, and he is known for his more than a decade as the lead singer of the Gaither Vocal Band.

Saints Alive time, format changes

MOORESVILLE – Saints Alive is changing its format and will have a different time frame for meetings.

The events are 10:30-10:45 a.m., coffee and tea; 10:45-11:30 a.m. program and devotions; 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., luncheon and visiting.

The first meeting with this format will be Sept. 18. Cost is $5.

The September program will feature Mooresville Memories and will focus on the town’s past. Mooresville natives and longtime residents are invited to share what they remember. Attendees are also asked to bring new school supplies to be donated to Mooresville Christian Mission.

Saints Alive is the older adult ministry for those 50 and older. It meets in the fellowship hall of First Presbyterian Church Mooresville.
