MOORESVILLE – The Mooresville Police Department has released the following report about an overnight incident.

At approximately 2:03 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10, a shooting was reported in the 200 block of West Park Avenue in Mooresville.

Mooresville Police responded and located a male victim at a residence who had been shot, according to the department. The victim stated he suspected someone was breaking into his residence and went to check. Once he encountered the suspects, he was immediately shot with a firearm. The victim gave officers a description of the suspect vehicle.

Mooresville Police spotted a vehicle fitting that description a short time later and conducted a traffic stop. There were four suspects inside the vehicle who were subsequently arrested. The victim was transported to a Charlotte hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

Individuals arrested were Derrek D. Dulin, 19, of Statesville; Tacari A. Clark Jr., 18, of Statesville; and James M. Ingram, 19. A fourth suspect was arrested but the name will be withheld due to being considered a juvenile.

All four suspects were charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, armed robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony conspiracy, possession of a stolen firearm, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and carrying a concealed weapon.

At the time of the media notification, the suspects are still being processed. Investigators stated this incident was not random but was a targeted attack.
