Mooresville at Davie County girls

When: 6 p.m.

Breakdown: Both Mooresville and Davie County are coming off wins Dec. 4 for this Friday evening matchup in Mocksville. The Blue Devils (2-1) fell to South Iredell their first game of the year but picked up wins at A.L. Brown and Jay M. Robinson by scores of 55-34 and 64-32, respectively. Guards Alecsai Allen and Kaylan Daniels lead Mooresville and their up-tempo offense under first-year head coach Jay Clark. This will be the third game in a stretch of five contests away from home for the Devils. Davie’s (2-2) two wins are over Rockingham County and at Alexander Central.

Lake Norman at West Rowan girls

When: 6:30 p.m.

Breakdown: The Lake Norman Wildcats take their 1-1 record east to face an unbeaten West Rowan team Friday. The host Falcons are 3-0 coming off dominant victories over Davie County (75-37) and A.L. Brown (62-32). Lauren Sullivan is leading returning scorer for the Wildcats at 15.3 points a game last season. Coach McKenzie Graham is in her second season, and a win over the Falcons would indicate the team is heading in the right direction. West Rowan has two double-digit scorers, Abigail Wilson, at 17.7 points per game; and Mary Sobataka, who averages 13.3 a contest.

Community School of Davidson at Mountain Island Charter boys

When: 7:30 p.m. Dec. 7

Breakdown: This is the only game this week featuring two teams in the Lake Norman Publications’ footprint. MICS lost 70-56 to Victory Christian Center Nov. 29 in its first game of the year and will be coming off consecutive road games before facing PAC 7 1A foe CSD. Demetrious Washington was the leading scorer for the Raptors in the VCC game, with 14 points. The Raptors went 17-9 last year but lost their two leading scorers. CSD started the year 0-2, its first loss coming in overtime to Highland Tech. Look for senior captains Sage Alexander and Brandon Ellington to lead the Spartans in scoring.
