Queen’s Grant at Pine Lake Prep (boys)
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Breakdown: Pine Lake Prep bounced back from a close loss to Community School of Davidson with a dominant victory over Langtree Charter Jan 29. Senior DeMarcus Johnson has been on a tear the last few weeks, averaging 27 points per game over the last four games. The 6-foot-4 Johnson also recorded his 1,000th career point amid his 30-point outing against the Lions. Hough at Lake Norman (boys)
Time: 7:45 p.m.
Breakdown: Lake Norman will look to get even with Hough a couple of different ways in this one. The first is in the season series, since the Huskies handed the Wildcats a last-second loss Jan. 4 courtesy of a Nathan Chambers 3-pointer. Additionally, following Hough’s win over Mooresville Jan. 29, Lake Norman will look to even up their conference record with its next opponent. Freshman Graham Worland, the leading scorer in the first meeting between the teams, is averaging 9.7 to lead a balanced Hough team. Zach Schulz is still the Wildcats’ leading scorer, but fellow senior Zane Haglan has scored at least 16 in four of the last five games.
