The bad news is, Kayla Vega’s benefit concert in honor of slain Mooresville Officer Jordan Sheldon, scheduled for Friday evening, has been postponed because of the threat of bad weather.
The good news is, the rescheduled event will be even bigger than originally planned.
The new date is Saturday, June 22, from 2-11 p.m. The event still will be at Beer Lab by Ghostface Brewing on South Broad Street, but now will grow to include food trucks and other attractions, Vega said on Facebook Thursday.
The Southern Style Band will play after Vega’s performance.
The event will raise money for a scholarship fund at Mitchell Community College for students interested in becoming K9 officers, as Sheldon was.
Vega will still play from 7-11 p.m. Friday at Beer Lab, she said.
