MOORESVILLE – Lake Norman Regional Medical Center is hosting several series of classes involving early motherhood starting or continuing in February.
There will be a monthly, three-part Childbirth Education Class 6:30-9 p.m. on Tuesdays starting
Feb. 12 and concluding Feb. 20. The classes are taught in the evenings, and the cost is $60.
Information includes the labor process, medical interventions, positioning for
labor, breathing techniques and a hospital tour. Completion of the class is recommended by 37 weeks gestation.
The next Infant Care Class is scheduled for 6:30- 9 p.m. Feb. 26 in the
Lactation and Infant Nutrition Outpatient Center at 146 Medical Park Road in
The Infant Care Class includes basic infant care skills, such as feeding, bathing and diapering. It costs $15.
The monthly Breastfeeding Class has its next class planned for 6:30-9 p.m. Feb. 21 at the Lactation and Infant Nutrition Outpatient Center.
The breastfeeding class is taught by a lactation consultant and includes basic information on how to get started and how to manage nursing during the first few weeks of life. The class should be completed by 36-37 weeks gestation. It costs $30.
