Lowe's is ranked No. 42 on the latest Fortune 500 list.

Forbes released its latest installment of its Fortune 500 list May 17. Of the 12 companies that made the prestigious business list from North Carolina, six are the Charlotte metro area and only one – Lowe’s – calls Lake Norman home. Here are the state’s highest revenue-earners from their respective fiscal years.
