Robert Scott Triplet

MOORESVILLE – Robert “Bob” Scott Triplet, 64, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018, at his home.

He was born Aug. 5, 1954, in Mooresville to the late John and Lucy Proctor Triplet.

He was preceded in death by his brother, David Triplet, and sister, Faye Blanton.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Hart Triplet; children, Christina McAllister, Cassandra Najafi  and husband, Bijan, Patricia Triplet, Jacob Triplet and Jon-Paul Triplet; and five grandchildren.

Services will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 9, at the Statesville Civic Center.

Hans Aaron Neigum

MOORESVILLE – Hans Aaron Neigum, 80, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018.

He was born Dec. 29, 1937, in Napolean, N.D., to the late Philip and Anna Schumacher Neigum.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, David and Robert Neigum; sister, Lorraine Jones; and a granddaughter.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Holman Crump; children, Tim Hunter, Kristin Sowards, Aaron Neigum and significant other, Sari Peters, Amy Eades Dyson, Sheila Guiton, David Crump and wife, Juanita, and Nathan Robinson; brothers, Jim Neigum, Don Neigum and John Neigum; sisters, Loretta Neigum and Maggie Deibert; and four grandchildren.

Services were held Aug. 8 at Mooresville Church of God.

Juanita Angela Lee

MOORESVILLE – Angela Long Lee, 54, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018, at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville.

She was born March 20, 1964, in Greenville, S.C., to Anne McKinney Lanier and the late Billy Oree Long.

Survivors include her husband, James “Jimmy” Lee; twins, Austin and Hamlin Lee; and brother, Beau Long.

Services were held Aug. 20 at Williamson's Chapel United Methodist Church.

Gregory Thomas Ervin

MOORESVILLE – Gregory Thomas Ervin, 63, died Aug. 2, 2018, at the Brian Center.

He was born Feb. 9, 1955, to Maxine DeWitt and the late Harold Ervin.

Ervin worked as a tile setter.

He was preceded in death by a grandchild, Michaelyn Fowler.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; son, Ryan Ervin and wife, Dezeree, of Mooresville; daughters, Mara Ervin and Christie Niglio; siblings, Cheryl Mills and Kim Nichols; half-brothers, David and Tony Watkins; half-sister, Wendy Watkins Taylor; and six grandchildren.

Services were held Aug. 7 at James Funeral Home. Burial followed at Crown Memorial Park in Pineville.

Cunal Arlene Smith

MOORESVILLE – Arlene Patterson Smith, 102, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2018, at Genesis Healthcare in Mooresville.

She was born Dec. 20, 1915, in Alexander County to the late Patrick and Luna McCurdy Patterson.

She retired from Troutman Shirt Company. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl David Smith; and 11 siblings.

Survivors include her children, Sylvia Walker and husband, Richard, Earlene Estes and husband, Hubert, Harold Wayne Smith and wife, Joyce, and Judy Smith Nilsson; sister, Mary Elizabeth Mason; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Services were held Aug. 9 at the Cavin-Cook Funeral Home chapel. Burial followed at Glenwood Memorial Park.

Joanna Lynn Engelhardt

MOORESVILLE – Joanna Lynn Schaefer Engelhardt, 86, died Tuesday, July 31, 2018.

She was born May 29, 1932, in Buffalo, N.Y., to the late George and Hila Manning Schaefer.

She fostered children and volunteered.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Burdett, and brother, George W. Schaefer.

Survivors include her husband, Clifford A. Engelhardt; children, Denise McDonald, David Engelhardt, Christian Moran and Michael Kindell; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services were Aug. 4 at the Cavin-Cook Funeral Home chapel.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

James Allen Porter

MOORESVILLE – James “Jimmy” Allen Porter, 75, died Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at his home.

He was born in Palm Harbor, Fla.

He worked as an engineer.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Mercer.

Survivors include his children, Kimberly Galbreath, Virginia McCall, Anna Porter and Hope Jenzer; and seven grandchildren.

Services were held July 28 at Glenwood Memorial Park.
