Jerry Lee Pope

MOORESVILLE – Jerry Lee Pope, 69, died Tuesday, July 31, 2018, in Salisbury.

He was born Aug. 1, 1948.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers, Gene and Lloyd Pope.

Survivors include his sister, Cecilia Gilmer and husband, Grant, of Cornelius; and brother, Frank Pope and wife, Judy.

Services were held Aug. 3 at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel.

Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Daniel Ray Hutchens

MOORESVILLE – Daniel Ray Hutchens, 61, died Sunday, July 29, 2018, in Statesville.

He was born July 6, 1957, to the late Hilda May Hutchens and Jerry Franklin Hutchens.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Violet Ann Hutchens.

Survivors include his wife, Roxie Hutchens, of Mooresville; daughters, Christy Woods and husband, Joey, and Crystal Marie Eanes; step-children, Thomas Munyon, Morgan Miller, Lisa Peterson and Amber Peterson, all of Mooresville; brother, William Elmore Hutchens of Mooresville; and seven grandchildren.

Services were held Aug. 3.

Gracie Belle Luffman

MOORESVILLE – Gracie Belle Luffman, 93, died July 28, 2018, at Olde Knox Commons in Huntersville.

She was born Sept. 19, 1924, in Elkin to the late Johnny Luffman and Sally Holcomb Luffman.

She worked at Burlington Industries.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Harold Luffman.

Survivors include her children, Norma Luffman, James L. Luffman and Dwayne H. Luffman; one sister; one brother; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren.

Services were held Aug. 1 at Salisbury National Cemetery.

James Allen Porter

MOORESVILLE – James “Jimmy” Allen Porter, 75, died Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at his home.

He was born and raised in Palm Harbor, Fla.

He worked as an engineer.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Mercer.

Survivors include his four children – Kimberly Galbreath, Virginia McCall, Anna Porter and Hope Jenzer – and seven grandchildren.

Service were held July 28, at Glenwood Memorial Park, 273 Glenwood Drive, Mooresville.
