Elizabeth Jean Schnepf

MOORESVILLE – Elizabeth Jean Schnepf, 78, died Jan. 26, 2019, at her residence.

She was born March 27, 1940, in New York City to the late Jack and Elizabeth Cairns Fiore.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Joan Schnepf.

Survivors include her husband, Hank Schnepf; children, Dr. Belinda Jean Leventhal and husband, Bob, Daniel James Schnepf and wife, Lorraine, and Laura Jane Harrington and husband, Pat; sisters, Carmela Raguseo, Joan Ballweg, Patricia Damien and Eileen Warren; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two-great-great grandchildren.

Services were held Feb. 1 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.

Frank Schaffer

MOORESVILLE – Frank Schaffer, 85, died Jan. 26, 2019, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center.

He was born Aug. 13, 1933, in Filipowa, Yugoslavia, to the late Melchior and Magdalena (Unterreiner) Schaffer.

He worked for an architectural woodworking firm in New York.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Anton and Josef Schaffer.

Survivors include his wife, Ingrid Droste Schaffer; son, Frank Melchior Schaffer and wife, Maryann; daughter, Susan Schaffer Wronsky and husband, Scott; and four grandchildren.

Services were held Jan. 31 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home and Feb. 1 at St. Therese Catholic Church.

Doris Pugh Ferguson

MOORESVILLE – Doris Pugh Ferguson, 85, died Jan. 26, 2019, at her residence.

She was born July 24, 1933, in Randolph County to the late Fletcher and Bertha Pugh.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Ferguson; brother, Buck Pugh; and sister, Hazel Deaton.

Survivors include her son, Timothy “Catfish” Ferguson and partner, Sheila Bolick; brother, Floyd Pugh and wife, Shirley; sister, Helen Kivett and husband, Bill; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services were held Jan. 30 at Iredell Memorial Gardens in Statesville.

Gene Sherrill Duckworth 

CHARLOTTE – Gene Sherrill Duckworth, 87, died Jan. 25, 2019.

He was born May 25, 1931.

He was a U.S. navy veteran and owned and operated Duckworth Electrical.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lenora Duckworth.

Survivors include his children, Geary Duckworth and wife, Mary, of Mooresville, Brian Duckworth and wife, Linda, and Kenneth Duckworth and wife, Lisa, of Mooresville; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Services were held Jan. 30 at Fieldstone Presbyterian Church.

Bernice Marie Scott

MOORESVILLE – Bernice Marie Scott, 75, died Jan. 22, 2019.

She was born June 5, 1943, in Somerville, Mass., to the late Mary (Trubiano) Bonasera and Dominic Bonasera.

She served as ambassador of Mooresville Chamber of Commerce and Grief Share Facilitator The Cove Church Mooresville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon A. Scott.

Survivors include her son, David A. Scott of Mooresville; daughter, Sharon Krikorian and husband, Scott; sister Loretta Bonasera; son-in-law, Gregory S. Krikorian; and three grandchildren.

Services were held Jan. 25 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.
