MOORESVILLE – Ronald Richard Martin, 77, died Jan. 21, 2019, at Genesis Eldercare.

He was born April 4, 1941, in Mooresville to the late Richard Samuel Martin and Katherine Hobbs Martin.

He was a retired gunsmith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Stanley Martin; daughter, Gina Renee Martin; and brother, Terry Martin.

Survivors include his children, Lisa Martin Roebuck and husband, Todd, and Brian Martin and wife, Cathi; brother, Craig Martin; and five grandchildren.

Services were held Jan. 25 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.

Zeb Isaac Brawley

MOORESVILLE – Zeb Isaac Brawley, 96, died Jan. 21, 2019, at his residence.

He was born May 6, 1922, to the late Ben Neill Brawley and Edith Moore Brawley.

He was a retired machinist and maintenance worker for Cascade Mills in Mooresville.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Murdock Brawley; brother, Jack Neal Brawley; and sister, Edna Cox.

Survivors include his daughter, Jill Newton and husband, Johnny; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services were held Jan. 23 at Eastside Baptist Church.

Samantha Spearman

MOORESVILLE – Samantha Dawn Findlay Spearman, 37, died Jan. 20, 2019.

She was born Jan. 3, 1982, in Iredell County to Mark Hudson Findlay and Penny McCurdy Stringer.

She served on Cove Kids Check-in team.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Zelda Snow; maternal grandfather, Bruce McCurdy; and maternal grandmother, Jessie Morrison.

Survivors include her mother and husband, Greg; father and wife, Cindy; husband, David Spearman; children, Isaiah Michael Spearman and Aaliyah Grace Spearman; and siblings, Damian Storm Findlay, Devin Nicole Findlay, Justin Findlay and wife, Tabitha, Jared Findlay, Larkin Stringer and Wesley Stringer.

Corinne Gallo Cardillo

MOORESVILLE – Corinne Gallo Cardillo, 95, died Jan. 18, 2019, at Atria of Lake Norman.

She was born Feb. 21, 1923, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late Ernest and Mollie Gallo.

She was a retired teacher.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Cardillo; son, Harry Frank Cardillo; and two brothers.

Survivors include her daughters, Claudia Monastero and husband, Sal, Alice Crandall and husband, Michael; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Jan. 21 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home and Jan. 22 at St. Therese Catholic Church.

Kenneth Eugene Christy

MOORESVILLE – Kenneth Eugene Christy, 56, died Jan. 18, 2019.

He was born Sept. 20, 1962, in Mooresville to Barbara Barrier Whitlow and the late Larry Eugene Christy.

He was employed with Windstream in Mooresville.

Survivors include his wife, Pam Whitley Christy; children, Brandon Christy, Melissa Christy Filliben and Ben Christy; brothers, Brian Christy and Ricky Whitlow; stepsons, Clark and Colby Benfield; stepmom, Marilyn Christy Thomas; the mother of his children, Anna Richards Christy-Ziecker; and eight grandchildren.

Roger Henderson Eller

MOORESVILLE – Roger Henderson Eller, 67, died Jan. 13, 2019, at Genesis Healthcare.

He was born Sept. 10, 1951, in Rowan County to the late Henderson and Eary Tanner Eller.

He was a musician.

Survivors include his sisters, Virginia Cagle and Nadine Lyon.

MOORESVILLE – Michael Edward Cahill, 65, died Jan. 13, 2019.

He was born April 16, 1953, in Braintree, Mass., to the late Michael and Gloria Gagliardi Cahill.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Elaine Goodman.

Survivors include his wife, Laura Halloran Cahill; children, Kelly Cahill, Michael Cahill and Sean Cahill.

Joseph Michael Janos

MOORESVILLE – Joseph Michael Janos, 63, died Jan. 12, 2019.

He was born Feb. 15, 1955, in Bronx, N.Y., to Margaret McCafferty Janos and the late Harvey Janos.

Survivors include his mother; wife, Susan Escaravage Janos; daughters, Kayla Janos, Kelsey Janos and partner, Jarod Horne; sister, Patricia Amplo; brother, Michael Janos; and sister-in-law, Bonnie Janos.

Hubert Brown

MOORESVILLE – Hubert “Ted” Brown, 77, died Jan. 10, 2019.

He was born Dec. 9, 1941, in Iredell County to the late Hubert P. and Florence Miller Brown.

He worked for Burlington Mills in Mooresville then retired from Beaver Construction.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Marie B. Gregory; brother, Tommy Brown; twin brother, Ned Brown; and granddaughter, Allie Brown.

Survivors include his wife, June Smith Brown; sons, Michael Ted Brown and wife, Debbie, Joey Lee Brown and wife, Annette; sisters, Alene Brown, Irene Sherrill and Joyce Overcash; brothers, Gene Brown and Vernon "Shorty" Brown; three grandchildren; and five great-grandsons.

Services were held Jan. 14 at at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.
