Peter John Fitzpatrick

MOORESVILLE – Peter John Fitzpatrick, 72, died Dec. 29, 2018, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

He was born Dec. 31, 1945, in Jersey City, N.J., to the late Joseph Walter Edward Fitzpatrick and Catherine Healey Fitzpatrick.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving 23 1/2 years, and worked for Lockheed Martin Corp. in New York.

He was preceded in death by twins, a boy and a girl; and sisters, Eileen Cronin and Betty Fitzpatrick.

Survivors include his wife, Judie; daughters, Courtney Fitzpatrick and Tiffany Fitzpatrick and partner, John McVay; son, Anthony Fitzpatrick and wife, Raina; brother, Joe Fitzpatrick and wife, Erika; and five grandchildren.

Services were held Jan. 3 in the Heritage House of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.

Larry Lowrance Morrow

MOORESVILLE – Larry Lowrance Morrow, 74, died Dec. 28, 2018, at his home.

He was born Nov. 20, 1944, in Iredell County to the late James R. Morrow and Nettie Hager Morrow.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen M. Morrow; sister, Elizabeth M. Witherspoon; and brother, William H. Morrow.

Survivors include his children, Mechelle M. Bost, Melinda M. Goins, Larry L. Morrow Jr. and wife, Wendy, Gary W. Stewart, Joanie S. Moose and husband, Tony, Trish S. Wallace and husband, Danny, and Kathy S. Anderson; brothers, Charles H. Morrow and James Lewis Morrow; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Dec. 30 and 31 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.

Walter Charles Ewald

MOORESVILLE – Walter Charles Ewald, 82, died Dec. 27, 2018.

He was born March 4, 1936, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late Charles Ewald and Emma Dangler.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Ewald; Dorothy O’Shaughnessy, Walter Ewald, Daniel Ewald, Jonathan Ewald and Jerome Brennan; and five grandchildren.

Services were held Jan. 5 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.

Thad Morrison

MOORESVILLE – Thad Gray Morrison, 81, died Dec. 25, 2018.

He was born May 31, 1937, in Mooresville to the late George and Alice Morrison.

He worked for Transco Gas Pipeline, now Williams, for 30 years until retirement.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Bollinger Morrison; and brothers, Pressley Morrison, Buddy Morrison, Hoyt Morrison, Winston Morrison, John T. Morrison and Garry Morrison.

Survivors include his son, Jeff Morrison and wife, Sue; daughter, Kim Cross and husband, Tom; sister, Mary Ruth Lipe; sisters-in-law, Polly Caskaddon and Carole Morrison; and four grandchildren.

Services were held Dec. 29, 2018, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.

Stacey Ann Ritchie

MOORESVILLE – Stacey Ann Ritchie, 44, died Dec. 23, 2018.

She was born March 31, 1974, in Newton, N.J., to Larry and Dorothy Roche Decker.

She was a registered nurse at Novant Health Lake Norman Oncology.

Survivors include her parents; children, Kyle Ritchie, Kevin Ritchie and Jacob Ritchie; sisters, Laura Wallace and Rebecca Weintraub; and the father of her children, Ed Ritchie.

Services were held Dec. 28 at the Cavin-Cook Funeral Home chapel.

Jane Peterson Edelen

MOORESVILLE – Jane “Betty” Peterson Edelen, 86, died Dec. 21, 2018, at her residence.

She was born Oct. 21, 1932, in West Orange, N.J., to the late Einar and Jane MacGregor Peterson.

She retired from Aenta insurance company in New Jersey.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Edelen; son, Robert J. Edelen II; and brother, Norman Peterson.

Survivors include her children, Patricia Carr and husband, Brian, Mary Ashley, Thomas Edelen and wife, Joyce, Theresa Freeze and husband, Brian; sister, Elna Pettera; brother, Edward Peterson; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services were held Dec. 28 at St. Therese Catholic Church.
